Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY….

The Business Applications Advisor Manhattan WMS interacts with business partners and/or IT staff to gather and document information related to requirements, testing and implementation of WMS solution extensions and integrations. Leads design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow; documents risk and identify mitigation strategies. Drafts and reviews documentation in compliance with the FedEx global development process. Develops and/or maintains a business model that reflects current processes and business rules. Manages Manhattan WMOS Product, SDN Deployments, troubleshooting of performance issues, WMOS database refreshes activities, WM Archiving, purge configuration and setup. Mentors those in less senior positions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting, configuring or implementing Manhattan WMOS WMS systems.
  • Five years of experience in Supply Chain Management with functional knowledge of Distribution and 3PL Logistics.
  • Experience with tier 1 transportation management applications such as MetaPack, Connect Clip, Logistyx or other leading multi-carrier parcel and LTL (Less than Truckload) and TL (Truck Load) shipping systems.
  • Experience in other related systems including Labor Management Systems (LMS), Yard Management Systems (YMS), and Warehouse Controls /Execution Systems (WCS/WES) with Manhattan WMoS to integrate with Unit sorters, conveyors, put to light, pick to light.
  • Experienced in Interface mapping technologies – EDI, tXML, GS1 standards.
  • Experienced in different Message broker technologies (i.e. Active MQ, IBM MQ, MIF).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with XML, HTML, SQL, API Testing, PL/SQL, UNIX Shell Scripting, Job scheduling tools (Control-M, Automic etc.) and Other: knowledge of web service architecture, data modeling experience is plus.
  • Experience in different type of Barcode Generation/Usage – GS1-128, EAN/UPC, Data Matrix, QR Code.
  • Must display ability to logically work through problems to create solutions to maintain business operations contractual service level agreements.
  • Ability to work well in distributed teams with effective communication skills to ensure their tasks and ideas are effectively understood. This includes but is not limited to proactively providing status updates, identifying areas and opportunities for improvement, and escalation of problems and issues to managers.
  • Good Communication Skills with high degree of verbal and written proficiency both technical and operational and a professional attitude.
  • Knowledge of enterprise hardware platforms such as UNIX and/or Linux servers and Oracle relational databases is a plus.
  • Action-oriented self-starter who enjoys fast paced dynamic environments who works well individually and in a team.
  • Some technical experience with SpringBoot, Java preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Hands on configuration of Manhattan WMOS WMS systems.
  • Responsible for the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); including requirements definition, solution Design, Functional Specification, technical designs, coding, testing and implementation of WMS solution extensions and integrations.
  • Develop the Custom packing slip, Shipping label and all other shipping documentation based on Customer Business needs using Jasper Soft, Mark Magic and eFormz.
  • Work with Implementation and program management teams to transition new customer and development projects into normal day to day activities.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, the business community, external customers, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Follow corporate vision, mission and values in daily activities. Follow the highest ethical standards in all activities undertaken.
  • Provides for 24/7/365 coverage as needed using on call rotation in support of operations under time constraints and pressure situations.
  • Follow change control methodology in day-to-day activities.
  • Work to establish, maintain, and update strategy (methodology, processes, standards, tools, services) used in implementing supply chain systems.
  • Travel for projects as required
  • Follow corporate vision, mission and values in daily activities.
  • Follow the highest ethical standards in all activities undertaken.
  • Provides for 24/7/365 coverage as needed using on call rotation in support of operations under time constraints and pressure situations.
