Role Summary
Reporting to the Corporate Technology M&A Enterprise Architect, the Business Architect is responsible for the discovery and creation of the target organisational design for a newly acquired or divested entity/asset. This will include the execution of discovery and design activities against the Integration and Separation Frameworks. The Business Architect will be responsible for the creation and implementation of business analysis and architecture policies, processes, standards and governance that are founded on best practice, smart working, pragmatism, and a principle of single capture (not re-seeking information that we already have).
The Business Architect will be responsible for embedding best practice and drive the maturity of processes, while remaining closely aligned to both the Group wide LSEG Change Framework and divisional governance as required.

What you’ll be doing

  • Owner, champion and coach of the agreed Business Capability Mapping (BCM) approach
  • Analyze the current state of both the acquiring and target companies’ business architectures, including value streams, capabilities, and business processes.
  • Business analysis and recommendations based on BCM output
  • Conduct a gap analysis to identify business process redundancies, alignment opportunities, and areas of risk.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure the due diligence process considers the long-term business strategy and operational goals of the merged or divested organization.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to communicate the business transformation roadmap and ensure alignment with leadership and departmental goals.
  • Definition of Value Propositions (VPs) for the target entity
  • Definition of the Application Roadmap aligned with the BCM
  • Matrix management of Programme team members for discovery exercises
  • Co-ordination of activities and recommendations with Architecture teams (Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture) within Service Lines.
  • Serve as a key liaison between business leaders and technology teams to ensure that business requirements are accurately reflected in IT solutions.
  • Global process and delivery improvements aligned with best-practice and lessons learned – striving for Operational Excellence.
  • Lead the continuous improvements process to drive process maturity
  • Ensure Programme teams are supported to adhere to all LSEG governance and internal processes
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand and incorporate synergy opportunities and operational risks into business and financial plans
  • Own and develop the BA practice to ensure business analysis tasks across the department are carried out effectively
  • Source, train, and supply Business and Data Analysts needed to deliver the change portfolio across Corporate Technology M&A
  • Line management of Business Analysts working in the M&A space
  • Proactive resource forecasting that allows for a robust recruitment process that incorporates Diversity and Inclusion
  • Work with PMO and other internal stakeholders to ensure workers are onboarded correctly and managed effectively throughout their time in LSEG including POs, training, system access and accurate resource forecasting
  • Establish and maintain strong and supportive relationships across all capabilities and business units to enable the swift and effective management of issues, risks and dependencies when escalated
  • Contribute to the overall development of the wider M&A department, and take ownership of shared deliverables, where identified
  • Continuously adopt a pragmatic, flexible, and responsive approach
  • Working with teams in multiple locations simultaneously
  • Apply judgement to assess the relative importance of assigned tasks and prioritises effectively.

You’ll bring (Candidate Profile / Key Skills)

  • 10+ years of combined change management/project management/Business Analysis experience
  • Recent and direct experience in Corporate Development within a financial services organisation of a similar scale to LSEG
  • Extensive enterprise business analysis experience, including functional, non-functional, business and process requirements elicitation
  • Strong understanding of business process design, operating model, and organizational change management in large, complex organizations.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing Target Operating Models (TOMs)* in post-merger or post-divestment scenarios.
  • Excellent workshop facilitation and presentation skills at an Exec/Board level
  • End to end project lifecycle experience
  • BA/Architectural frameworks experience: TOGAF, SixSigma, ISEB
  • Excellent skills in stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Team Management
  • Experience with projects in multiple technologies, functions (e.g. transaction management, risk management etc.) and industries
  • Exceptional understanding of the change management process / lifecycle and it’s practical application
  • Experience managing geographically distributed and culturally diverse work-groups
  • Ability to develop and leverage relationships/ influence key stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively as needed to deliver against objectives
  • Demonstrated track record as a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize among competing demands; ability to wear multiple hats and be both a “thinker” and a “doer”
  • Experience of working with multiple ‘Corporate technologies’, to enable recognition of interdependencies in end-to-end processes that bisect functional boundaries (JML etc)
  • Demonstrable team leadership experience including oversight of 10+ staff from Associate to Expert levels of competency
  • Ability to motivate a team to deliver exceptional results to tight deadlines
  • Highly motivated / Strong work ethic – Proven commitment to adapt and champion time sensitive/mission critical processes operating in a global and matrix-type organization
  • Significant and recent experience in a consulting firm or industry of preparing and delivering technology programmes in an M&A environment
  • Professional presentation skills with impact, competent in presenting ideas clearly, convincingly to influence senior stakeholders and possessing personal presence, with the ability to earn trust and respect
  • Strong Process Management skills - able to understand and coordinate complex organizational processes and consolidate input from multiple stakeholders
  • Fast learner and able to link diverse sources of information to our business including ability to handle confidential information and materials with appropriate discretion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate findings in a compelling manner to internal and external audiences which include senior level executives
  • Exceptional project management capabilities and ability to drive multi-disciplinary teams of internal and external stakeholders to deliverables on tight deadlines.
