About the Role
As a Business Assurance & Controls Manager in our Complaints, Remediation & Events Assurance team, you’ll play a key role in Line 1 Risk support for the Customer Resolution, Remediation & Assurance Portfolio, as well as assisting in the E2E value chain oversight and accountability.
You will be responsible for supporting and contributing to the E2E value chain risk assessments, risk related change management, events management, controls design and general assurance advice. This involves continuous touch points with key business stakeholders to understand risk and controls data outside the CR&R Portfolio, investigation of data quality anomalies, and identification of data trends and hot spots in relation to the E2E process/value chain. In addition, external risk landscape will need to be understood, reviewed and assessed including control design for CPS 230, HIPS and Amplified.

What will your day look like?

Responsibilities:

Facilitating and participating in Risk Management Forums (RMFs) including preparation and presentation of specialist content for the E2E forums (example ERGF, CGF, CAF etc)
Holding workshops and developing risk solutions across multiple portfolios / stakeholders
Building and maintaining relationships including influencing stakeholders across multiple portfolios to uplift the E2E risk and control environment
Analysing, assessing and reporting a broad range of data to provide value add insights
Providing control objectives and compliance support (including support of control design) including value chain controls relied upon by the businesses
Supporting the business in actioning outcomes of thematic reviews and deep dives by Line 2 and 3, and other hot spots identified through trend analysis such as events management
Supporting and advising in the event of internal Audit reviews that span a single portfolio or value chain including coordination and assistance with responses
Maintaining and managing risk data completeness and quality in NFR Hub
Coordinate and manage data for NFR Hub reporting
Supporting the E2E value chain with reviewing their risk profiles and control environment. Overseeing and supporting the E2E value chain with risk treatment plans. Overseeing and supporting the E2E value chain with regular risk reviews (e.g., High/Extreme risk reviews, etc.)
Providing guidance to the Business on how to conduct change risk impacts and risk assessments (including CRMA/ORAs) and how to manage risks related to change implementation
Risk advisory support to the Business with making informed decisions on risk management
Working with the Business and Control Owners to develop remediation plans
Supporting the Business and Control Owners in developing effective controls both in the business and for the E2E risk management to manage key risks
Identifying and developing opportunities to automate and simplify the controls environment
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Experience in risk management/ compliance; OR internal / external auditing
Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the E2E value chain to develop effective operational risk management solutions
Able to develop and use analytical insights and data across the E2E value chain to identify opportunities to better balance risk with customer propositions and help drive critical business decisions by analysing metrics, designing reports and writing risk submissions
A desire to create a thorough understanding of how our customers and bankers relate and react to embedding risk management in everyday activities
Willingness to look at things differently, effectively challenge the status quo and innovate the Customer Resolution and Remediation Assurance solutions and service provided to the Retail Division
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build relationships across the value chain through a collaborative approach
