POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Automation Developer will work to create an Automation CoE and develop and support low-code technology solutions to improve and transform business processes for the University community.
The ideal candidate will work with Business Systems Analysts and process owners to define requirements and be responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of automations using principles that are efficient, well-structured, documented, and easy to understand.

WORKPLACE REQUIREMENTS

This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. This position is onsite a minimum of 2 days per week. Per Rice policy 440 , work arrangements may be subject to change.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, and the proposed salary range is $95,900 - $122,400 annually, depending on qualifications and experience . Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year-for-year basis may be substituted
  • 3+ years of increasingly responsible experience successfully managing various projects in a technical environment
  • Skills
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting automation solutions (such as UIPath RPA, Microsoft Power Platform, etc)
  • Knowledge of software/RPA development lifecycle and best practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, including Business Analysts, colleagues, and functional users
  • Understanding of various automation components, cloud/bot configuration, and licensing of UIPath, Power Automate etc
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills, including management of multiple assignments
  • Excellent documentation skills

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders to capture business requirements, create process and solution design documents, and develop automation solutions based on findings
  • Perform basic testing of automations and solutions before handing off to business systems analysts and end users for acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Configure, manage, monitor, and maintain UIPath orchestration cloud
  • Monitor and support existing automations to include root cause analysis for failures and provide timely responses/corrective actions
  • Mentor and train other employees in automation best practices and development
  • Complete all assigned administrative duties and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate
