Salary: £28,500 - £33,333 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

JOB INTRODUCTION

BBC News Northern Ireland provides breaking news, analysis, features and debate plus coverage on topical issues across all platforms for local audiences and beyond. The Belfast and Foyle newsrooms are supported by a team who are responsible for staff rotas, leave management and the payment of contributors. This team is crucial for the smooth operation of the department, on a daily and longer term basis.
We’re looking for people who are passionate about working with others and who love being organised, and keeping on top of your workload.
Working in the News and Current Affairs Team, the primary objective of the Business Coordinator role is to provide comprehensive business support to managers and team leaders. The role will be responsible for a broad range of administrative tasks, including diary management, payment processing, co-ordinating training initiatives, and driving the optimisation of cross-team operational systems.

Responsibilities:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist projects/working groups by providing general administration services, analytics reports and tracking outputs.
  • Help cascade information across the business to ensure effective communication flow.
  • Monitor and report on mandatory training.
  • Collaborate with divisional specialists to provide general policy guidance and advice.
  • Provide business support service including diary assistance, travel logistics, co-ordination of meetings.
  • Carry out delegated business administrative tasks including managing onboarding and offboarding of our staff and freelancers, raising IT support requests, and other tasks as required.
  • Support risk management and data protection processes.
  • Support the monitoring of finance performance against budget, working closely with specialists to produce relevant Management Information.
  • Support the Planning and Scheduling team with raising purchase orders, processing contributor payments and freelancer bookings.
