Description:
Responsible for analyzing business loan requests to develop thorough and objective credit presentations while ensuring the bank’s lending policies are followed. Includes analysis of business and personal cash flow and financial statements, comparison with industry trends and/or projections, understanding of collateral requirements and reviewing collateral valuations. These responsibilities also include establishing necessary monitoring reminders to ensure financial requirements are followed. Primary focus will be on preparing credit presentations for our borrowing relationships in the top 25% of the loan portfolio. This may include joint calls with Business Relationship Managers to gain necessary insight and information. In addition, performing annual reviews, peer reviews and complete financials spreads.
CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field of study
- Four or more years of experience with commercial loan credit analysis; or combination of applicable work experience and education
- Solid understanding of financial statements including but not limited to tax returns, profits & loss statements, balance sheets and other business financials.
- Awareness of laws and regulations that govern lending and accounting practices.
- Professional well developed interpersonal and communication skills essential for interacting with credit union staff and members.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment with a variety of personalities.
- In-depth mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, dividend, interest, payoff, and equity calculations etc.).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively, make logical decisions and carry out decisions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and intermediate knowledge of Excel.
