Description:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) will play a key role in driving new business opportunities for our cold storage services.
This individual will research, identify, and engage potential customers, transitioning qualified leads to the Sales team for proposals.
The role requires proactive outreach and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software such as Hubspot, although CRM experience is not required. Ability to quickly learn new tools and systems.
- Analytical & Organized: Strong research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage potential customers effectively.
- Self-Motivated & Collaborative: A driven team player who thrives in a remote environment and works well with others to achieve sales goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education: Four-year college degree required, preferably a BSBA or BA.
Experience: Two years of customer service experience required; one year of supply chain experience preferred but not mandatory.
Proactive Mindset: Must be comfortable with cold calling and proactively reaching out to new prospects.
Physical Requirements: While performing the essential functions of this job, this person will work in an office, private car and/or mass transit environments with occasional prolonged work schedules and sporadic exposure to extreme cold and noise. Travel is required including overnight travel and travel via aircraft and/or automobile.

Responsibilities:
- Research & Identify Leads: Conduct thorough research to uncover potential cold storage customers nationwide, focusing on frozen and refrigerated food manufacturers.
Customer Outreach: Utilize software tools to locate decision-makers and contact information. Initiate contact through cold emails, LinkedIn messages, calls, and other communication methods.
Lead Qualification: Engage prospects to understand their cold storage requirements and qualify leads before handing them off to the Sales team.
CRM Management: Log all lead interactions and communications in HubSpot CRM to ensure proper follow-up and pipeline management.
Sales Support: Assist the Vice President of Business Development with marketing and sales initiatives, providing administrative and research support as needed.
Trade Show Representation: Represent the company at trade shows and participate in site visits to Vertical Cold Storage locations, traveling approximately four times per year.
