Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE JOB YOU’LL BE DOING
As our Sales and Business Developer, your primary mission is to secure direct work (not open street bid work) for our team, maintaining an 8-12 month backlog. You will be the driving force behind identifying and cultivating long-term customer relationships, anticipating their needs, and steering work to Allied while fostering healthy, owner-like relationships with our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF A BUSINESS DEVELOPER AT ALLIED
- Find and secure direct work to maintain an 8–12-month backlog for the team/department
- Close deals effectively to ensure a steady stream of projects
- Identify potential long-term customers and their upcoming needs and requirements months in advance
- Develop strategies to anticipate and meet client needs proactively
- Understand, introduce, and implement co-operative purchase program use with customers.
Relationship Building:
- Initiate, develop, and nurture relationships with new and existing clients
- Foster strong connections between ABS employees and customer contacts
- Act as the owner’s representative in all client interactions, maintaining the health and longevity of partnerships
Strategic Planning:
- Analyze market trends and client needs to inform business strategy
- Collaborate with leadership to align business development efforts with company goals
- Develop long-term account plans for key clients
Project Pipeline Management:
- Maintain a robust pipeline of potential projects
- Prioritize opportunities that align with ABS’s strengths and strategic objectives
- Coordinate with estimating and operations teams to ensure smooth project handoffs
Client Advocacy:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts
- Advocate for clients’ needs within ABS to ensure high levels of satisfaction
- Proactively address any client concerns or issues
