Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Canadian Natural’s Marketing Team is seeking a dynamic individual with firsthand experience in gas and NGL business development. As a Business Development Advisor, you’ll be at the forefront of driving growth and expanding Canadian Natural’s market presence. You’ll leverage your strong business and commercial acumen to identify and pursue new business opportunities, actively manage existing counterparties and agreements, cultivate strategic partnerships, and develop initiatives that align with our long-term goal to maximize netbacks. Your industry experience and knowledge will help guide key decisions, from market analysis to deal negotiation, ensuring we stay ahead in a competitive and evolving industry.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide input into commercial strategy with an understanding of third-party assets and infrastructure
- Manage complex contracts and sophisticated counterparties; lead commercial contract negotiations with counterparty representatives
- Evaluate and develop new infrastructure opportunities with production and marketing teams to maximize netbacks
- Develop and maintain industry relationships; consolidate and communicate market intelligence information related to logistics projects and developments in regions that impact Canadian Natural business
- Provide support and input on M&A activity including integration
- Model (MS Excel) marketing netbacks for future and existing Canadian Natural properties
Responsibilities:
- 10-15 years of experience developing business opportunities for hydrocarbons (crude, gas and NGL) including in-depth knowledge of commercial or contract management, specifically with transportation and fractionation service agreements
- Completion of an applicable bachelor’s degree such as Engineering, Finance or Economics
- Able to easily fit within a team and work effectively with others, confident to meet with external companies and build external network
- Strong knowledge of economic evaluations principles in connection with midstream assets and proven experience evaluating market dynamics and maximizing netbacks
- Write and interpret marketing and commercial contracts – experience with legal reviews will be considered beneficial
- Strong organization skills and able to work on several projects with competing priorities
- Superior Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Technical Writing
