Description:

The Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC) is a premier regional venue dedicated to hosting exceptional conventions, entertainment events, and expositions. As we strive for continuous growth and commercial success, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Business Development Officer for parental leave coverage until March 2025.

  • The ability to work under pressure, plan, prioritise and meet deadlines.

  • C Class Driver Licence

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Field sales/hire enquiries assess availability and prepare quotations.
  • Administer contracts, maintain accurate records in the Venue Booking Software (EBMS), and oversee the compilation of reports to Finance Department for accurate billing of event hires.
  • Liaise with production/catering to ensure records are up to date and that information has been accurately shared amongst teams.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to implement and enhance sales strategies.
  • Actively contribute to achieving maximum revenue generation.
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities to expand the centre’s market reach.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Provide support in planning and executing events to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.
