Description:

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Fluent in English
  • Ideally speaks German
  • Relevant university degree in Business, or a suitable natural science or alternatively experience of CDMO business
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in CDMO business with demonstrated track record of success with multiple international pharma clients over a sustained period
  • Has access to a relevant active network within target client organizations
  • Good understanding of the global market developments and emerging markets
  • Is aware of technological changes or innovations
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Sense of urgency necessary to meet goals, objectives and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, at multiple layers

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the Business Development Director will be a key member of the growing BD team. The successful candidate will implement strategies and sales operations to help to drive growth in Recipharm.
The position will be based preferably in Germany or in Eastern Europe and will require regular business travel, including to Recipharm sites.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Become a key member of the Global Business Development function
  • Actively and successfully manage the sales process from lead generation to closing deals
  • Ensure that annual objectives and 3 year objectives are planned
  • Determine in accordance with the BD team what needs to happen to increase sales and fill a multi-year pipeline of contracted work, generating a pipeline of potential business opportunities with solid repeat business.
  • Develop a customer base from small, mid-sized to big customers, changing from single projects and clinical developments to commercial manufacturing.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and lead negotiations with prospective clients
  • Ensure that deliverables are met against the agreed budget, quality standards and cost objectives.
  • Participate actively in industry organisations, conferences and events
