Description:

The property offers apartment-style hotel rooms, cosy one-bedroom suites, and the added convenience of interconnecting family suites. Featuring on-site, Woodlands Restaurant & Bar and 10 versatile event spaces with state-of-the-art facilities catering for up to 300 guests.
Purpose
As the Business Development Manager, Mantra Melbourne Airport, you will drive hotel revenue by selling rooms and event spaces, building relationships with the local community, managing crew and cruise business, and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction through effective sales strategies.

The Role

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and implement strategies to sell hotel rooms and C&E spaces
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and understand local market trends
  • Set and achieve sales targets for room bookings and event space reservations
  • Plan and execute promotional activities, campaigns, and events to attract local clientele
  • Attend local events, trade shows, and business functions to promote the hotel and network with potential clients
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports to hotel management, detailing performance against targets and market trends
  • Negotiate contracts and rates to ensure competitive pricing and mutual benefits

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in sales or business development roles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and clients
  • Proficient in analysing sales data, generating reports, and gaining feedback to improve strategies and services
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with other hotel departments
  • Experience negotiating contracts and agreements with clients and partners
