Description:
Overview: The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving growth by identifying and securing new opportunities in meetings, events, incentives, and business travel. This role focuses on expanding Cadence’s Corporate Division by cultivating relationships with potential clients and closing sales to enhance our portfolio.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in meetings and incentives, business travel or hotel sales management and a proven sales record.
- Minimum of five years’ experience B2B selling, ideally within the travel/hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of air travel, hotels/venues and destinations.
- Excellent sales skills (prospecting, sales process and negotiation skills)
- Knowledge of the meetings and incentive travel industry strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities in the meetings, events, and incentive travel sectors.
- Proactively seek and secure new business travel accounts.
- Facilitate sales processes for all new corporate opportunities including pursuing, cultivating and following up on sales leads, making necessary sales calls, developing and executing compelling responses to RFP’s and proposals. Conduct sales presentations and negotiate and execute documents that lead to the successful closing of business.
- Utilize Salesforce to record and manage all sales leads and activity; maintain and update pipeline report of potential clients/contracts with appropriate information. Prepare regular reports including client contacts established and results of sales activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions with a consultative approach and partner with operations to price accordingly. (airfare, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, tours, meals, activities, etc.) Even after the initial services are sold, continue to work with client to build their business with Cadence.
- Work with Marketing teams to target and solicit desired business opportunities.
- Responsible for meeting sales goals quarterly and annually.
- Responsible for identifying and implementing key strategies and action steps that will achieve future sales goals.
- Responsible for research and gaining additional knowledge through travel industry education. This will include webinars, FAMs, building relationships with hotel/destination partners, and attending industry educational conferences (GBTA, IMEX, MPI, PCMA etc.)
- Attend and represent company at industry events.
- Liaise with Operations – Meetings and Incentives and Business Travel Departments as needed for implementation and onboarding of new accounts and to ensure seamless execution of client requirements.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
