The ideal candidate will be located from Dartmouth, to Annapolis Valley, to Yarmouth, servicing customers in that region. You will be a self-starter, love to win, and be service-minded, sales-driven.
As an ambassador for Capital Foodservice, the Business Development Manager plays an important role in the success of the company, not just from a sales perspective, but also in showcasing the value Capital Foodservice offers through conducting themselves at all times in accordance with the Company’s Core Values, Mission and Vision statements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven sales track record of exceeding sales and growth targets;
- Previous experience in sales, with experience in the foodservice and retail industry an asset;
- Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization;
- Proven ability to manage and drive sales plans from beginning to end;
- Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services;
- Proven ability to position products against competitors;
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Good time management skills;
- Proficient computer skills;
- Must have a current driver’s license and own vehicle;
- Ability to work independently, with an entrepreneurial mindset;

Responsibilities:
- Develop customer and community relationships;
- Identify and follow up on sales opportunities using a structured approach;
- Create and execute on sales strategies in order to achieve individual sales targets;
- At all times represent the value Capital Foodservice can bring to a customers’ business, promoting the current flyer and other buying opportunities;
- Capture organic growth opportunities through providing excellent customer service to new and existing customers;
- Establish a travel plan which incorporates maintenance of existing customers, as well as prospecting for new business, and communicate to set expectations as to the frequency in which each customer can expect a face to face visit, and promote other support avenues to deliver continuous support from Capital Foodservice as a whole;
- Conduct cold calls to initiate sales opportunities, following up with regular frequency, showcasing Capital Foodservice value and offerings to grow interest and captures sales opportunities;
- Stay up to date on market trends, working within the Capital Foodservice Team to create strategies for new sales opportunities for new product lines of interest;
- Conduct regular partnership reviews with customers in order to add value, insight and gain valuable insight into their business and how you can better support their growth and/or challenges;
- Act as a liaison to initiate new customer applications, new product listing requests, routing challenges, resolve concerns, and to ensure the overall satisfaction of the Customer;
- Participate in community events, identifying sales opportunities for Capital Foodservice, as well as opportunities to build Capital Foodservice presence within the area;
- Be continuously learning about newly listed products to identify additional sales opportunities;
- When onboarding new customers, own the implementation through following up with the customer once their application has been received, supporting through the placement their first order, being present at the time of delivery of the first order, and conducting regular touch base meetings to ensure the continued satisfaction from the customer;
