REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- MSc or PhD, with experience in antibody discovery & engineering. An MBA or similar degree is a bonus and not necessary.
- Hands-on experience in research is ideal, enabling you to lead and participate inscience-focused discussions.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Willingness to do what needs to be done in a dynamic environment
- Previous experience in executing business development and licensing activities
- Experience in a smaller, more entrepreneurial environment
- Approachable and able to engage comfortably in conversations with colleagues, as well as potential and current partners.
- This position can be partially remote and includes travel to annual BD conferences and collaboration partners.
Responsibilities:
ROLE SUMMARY:
VERAXA is searching for a dynamic Business Development Manager/Director/SD with experience in drug development and expertise in the field’s antibody therapeutics.
In this role, you will lead our Business Development and Licensing efforts, driving meaningful deals and strategic partnerships. As the Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in implementing our business development strategy.
Reporting to the Chief Business Development Officer, you will manage communication with potential partners, conferences, timelines, evaluation, and commercial analysis for new and existing co-development deals, joint venture partnerships, as well as out/in-licensing and/or acquisition of key assets from various sources.
You bring an entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to understand scientific language and engage in discussions at that level. Additionally, you possess strong presentation, negotiation, and alliance management skills, along with a deep understanding of the industry and market landscape, key players, competitors, and how to identify potential partners.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct screens to identify new opportunities aligned to VERAXA’s scientific and therapeutic pipeline strategy.
- Coordinate for business development conferences and manage communications with prospective partners.
- Identify out/in-licensing opportunities for discovery and development stage partnerships leveraging VERAXA’s platform technologies.
- Identification, communication and management of risks and opportunities with new and existing partnerships and strategic alliances
- Evaluate the competitive landscape, determine market share assumptions, and support all strategic decisions with robust data and research.
