Description:

Overview:
Element Cambridge (Formally Anatune) is currently seeking a highly motivated and results driven Business Development Manager in the North of England to join our team and drive sales growth.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with innovative technologies (including chromatography instrumentation from manufacturers such as Agilent, Gerstel, SYFT Technologies and LECO), build relationships with key decision makers and have a direct impact on our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a sales plan for the territory to achieve or exceed sales targets by converting, retaining and penetrating accounts
  • Lead Generation & pipeline Management: Drive profitable sales expansion with a focus on acquiring new and re-engaging with dormant accounts, while growing existing clients. Actively participate in regular pipeline reviews, ensuring all CRM records are up to date and critical success factors are identified for key opportunities
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders ensuring follow up in a timely manner on quotations
  • Negotiation & Closing: lead sales negotiations, prepare proposals and close deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and long term partnershipsProduct Expertise: Provide in-depth knowledge of the company’s product portfolio and how the equipment can meet customer needs, supporting technical demonstrations and consultations where necessary
  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, customer needs and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and expansion
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the applications laboratory, servicing team and marketing to ensure seamless customer service and feedback loops
  • CRM: Actively utilize CRM record activities, ensuring contact details are accurate, duplicates are removed, new information is added and accurate call/visit logs are entered

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Proven Sales Experience: Proven experience in Sales / Business Development preferably within the analytical chemistry or capital equipment industry
  • Technical Knowledge / Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Chemistry (or related field) with a strong understanding of analytical instruments specifically GC-MS
  • Track Record of Success: Demonstrable success in meeting and exceeding sales targets and growing market share
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Self-motivation & initiative: A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Travel: Willingness to travel within Europe, primarily within the UK and Ireland (up to 50% of time) to meet clients, attend industry events and be actively involved in the leadership team onsite
