BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager services and grows existing and potential new accounts through customer interaction, and sources out new business opportunities for Emmerson Packaging products.
Responsibilities:
- Provides realistic forecasts of anticipated quarterly and yearly sales within designated territory based on current market conditions and company capabilities
- Works with management to develop accurate budgets
- Provides information to Emmerson Packaging personnel on market trends, conditions, and potential new markets
- Maintains open channel of communication with customers and plant
- Reports to National Sales Manager (Canada) or designeé on all phases of the sales job
- Delivers Account Business Reviews as per the customer Business Review Schedule (as determined by management).
- Achieves annual sales quota
- Develops new accounts through the use of store surveys, lead follow-up, customer referrals and qualified Inside Sales Leads.
- Manages and collects receivables in conjunction with Emmerson Packaging’s Accounting Department; follows up to ensure credits are issued to customers in a timely manner to prevent short payments by customers
- Monitors the territory’s month, year over year sales to assist with business planning and identify new sales opportunities.
- Negotiates selling prices based on price lists in conjunction with Marketing Department
- Leads annual goal-setting process with customers and monitors and ensures mutually agreed upon projects are delivered upon.
- Stays current on Emmerson Packaging product technologies.
- Maintains territory expenses within budget
- Keeps Hubspot CRM up to date with latest customer and new business prospect information.
