Description:

We’re always looking for new ways to raise the bar. So we’re searching for a Hotel Business Development Manager with a track record of driving sales and smashing targets to fill our rooms in the Melbourne Airport precinct.
Your day to day:

As Business Development Manager, you will implement and drive sales strategies to maximise hotel revenue performance and profitability within the dynamic and competitive airport precinct. This will include:

  • Working closely with the Portfolio Director of Sales and Marketing to develop and implement strategies to maximize business with a focus on achieving revenue and market share targets all year round
  • Developing business from existing channels while creating new business development opportunities
  • Building relationships with corporate clients, travel agents, event planners and other potential business partners to drive group and corporate accounts
  • Managing agreements with key corporate clients and travel management companies
  • Working with client base on all levels including new business opportunities, sales calls, presentations and site inspections to increase sales
  • Preparing and presenting sales and marketing reports, including revenue forecasts, market analysis, and performance metrics, to the senior management team

What we need from you:

  • Minimum 2 years sales experience, preferably within a hotel environment
  • In-depth knowledge of proactive sales principles and techniques
  • Understand the competitive hotel industry and airport precinct dynamics and trends
  • Ability to manage a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Proactive approach to developing and maintaining strong relations with stakeholders
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and extract trends from base information
  • Strong presentation, commercial and communication skills
  • Keeps abreast of changes and assesses trends in the travel industry to create strategies that drive business opportunities
  • Comprehension of Hotel systems and revenue management principles are advantageous
  • Full Australian working rights (sorry, sponsorship is not an option)
