Description:
GFI, a Westport Fuel Systems company, designs and manufactures a comprehensive product mix of alternative fuel components for applications in the light and heavy-duty vehicle and industrial segments globally. This product mix includes Hydrogen (H2) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) components such as pressure regulators, tank valves, PRD’s, PRV’s, shutoff valves and integrated systems for a wide range of applications, including Fuel Cell vehicles.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the industrial, automotive, energy, or alternative fuels sectors.
- Strong knowledge of hydrogen, CNG, and alternative fuel technologies.
- Experience working with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and industrial equipment manufacturers.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful business growth strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Responsibilities:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Business Development Manager for the industrial market will focus on identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and driving revenue growth in industrial sectors such as fueling infrastructure, power generation, and other off-road applications.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in industrial markets for hydrogen and CNG solutions.
- Build and execute market entry strategies for new regions, applications, and industries.
- Drive sales growth by identifying potential partners, distributors, and OEM customers.
- Manage and expand relationships with such industrial customers
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer negotiations, contracts, and project management.
- Develop long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform business strategies.
- Work closely with engineering, product management, and other departments to align product offerings with market demand.
- Provide insights into pricing, positioning, and new product development opportunities.
- Achieve or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
- Develop and present business proposals, technical presentations, and ROI analyses to potential clients
- Manage the sales pipeline, forecasting, and reporting on business development progress.
Health & Safety responsibilities
- Promote Westport’s H&S culture following all Environmental, and H&S procedures and understanding your obligations and responsibilities
- Report on unsafe conditions, behaviors and all accidents
- Co-operate with JHSC (Joint Health & Safety Committee) and Safety representative
