Description:
Target new business based on book-of-business, cold calling and mailing, market development, study and research to grow the freight forwarding book for ocean and air freight import and export business. Prepare P&L for costing on all new business accounts/opportunities, including analysis for executing rate changes. Communicate with Customer Service team regarding all information on customer changes and updates to strengthen business relationship and address related issues. Remain abreast of industry standards and trends and find innovative ways to help grow business. Hybrid role out of Baytown, Texas office.
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
POSITION REQUIREMENTS- EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing
- Business Administration
- Marketing Management or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience as a Business Development Manager
- Market Analyst
- Market Research Analyst
- Market Research Consultant
- Market Research Specialist
- Market Researcher, or a related role where required experience gained
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Also requires three (3) years of experience in the following:
- Freight forwarding industry
- Sales experience and proven growth in Ocean / Air freight forwarding aspect
- Multiple, creative methods of business development, including cold calling/mailing potential clients
- Product storage and equipment requirements for handling various cargos
- Prepare P&L for costing on all new business accounts/opportunities, including analysis for executing rate changes
- Update work file registers of Sales Targets and Sales Planning to monitor focus areas, sales activity and overview of projects; and
- Demonstrated track record of revenue growth and proven sales success
