JOB SUMMARY

The CDW’s Solutions organisation is in place to collaborate with sales and to be responsible for delivering high value outcomes and experiences to our existing and prospective customers across a variety of technology growth pillars including Hybrid Platforms, Modern Workspace, Security and Digital Enablement.
The Solutions business is made up predominantly of Business Development professionals (sales specialists) and various levels of Solution Architects (presales technical resource).

This role is for a Business Development Manager (BDM) for which the role is focussed on the following core areas:

  • Create and execute on a SMART plan that delivers against targets and KPI’s.
  • Result driven sales overlay resource focussed on delivering successful financial metrics for the business and aligned partners.
  • Being a sales specialist in the specific technology, solution, services area of this role.

Operating within the Modern Workspace growth pillar, the Workspace Services BDM will be aligned to driving workspace business in technology sales and services from the Lenovo Solutions and Services Group (SSG) portfolio. The BDM will work with CDW sellers and sales management, marketing, and technical specialists to drive new pipeline and secure closed business in the focus areas. They will also work with the Lenovo sales management and CDW partner management to support business plan activity and the shared goal tracking and achievement.
Overall, this role is accountable for maximizing revenue and profit growth by driving close partnerships both internally and externally and aligning with the Workspace go to market plans and the Lenovo business goals. This will be supported with joint initiatives as per an agreed business plan the role holder will own.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrable experience in delivering successful sales growth performance – running a structured sales cycle from start to finish.
  • Demonstrable IT sales experience. Ideally having good experience selling workspace products and services (personal computing hardware and services)
  • A current business level understanding of the Modern Workspace topic.
  • Experience of working in sales environments and contributing to sales proposals, bid responses and customer meetings.
  • Excellent communication skills: presenting to an audience; written and verbal skills.
  • Professional interpersonal skills (articulate and engaging)
  • Experience in building positive working relationships with internal and external customer.
  • Strong planning, organisation and reporting skills.
  • Desirable experience of working in or an understanding of the working as an overlay sales person

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish new relationships within CDW and externally within the client/prospect base to drive performance goals e.g., revenue/Profit contribution.
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives/KPI’s.
  • Work in close partnership with the internal CDW Sales and Specialist teams to identify new opportunities whilst driving proactive development of converged pipe/funnel.
  • Own the execution of the business plan against defined milestones & metrics.
  • Weekly cadence with sales management:
  • Provide a weekly Pipeline tracker for monitoring & development, forecast demand, and funnel inspection
  • Provide feedback to Lenovo on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers by extending company offerings
  • Maintain and own any certifications requirements that support Lenovo accreditation where relevant and required.
  • Understand and promote all relevant programs and promotions to maximize the sales opportunity.
  • Own and manage the Lenovo SSG services pipeline and forecast where relevant to do so.
