Job Title: Business Development Manager – Lighting Solutions
Location: CR5 2HT. Travel across the UK and occasionally Ireland
Salary: £50,000+ (DOE) + Performance-Based Bonus

We are Hudson Lighting, a dynamic company specializing in professional lighting solutions for electricians, garden designers, and landscape contractors. Our in-house team of lighting experts provides end-to-end support—from concept through design and installation—ensuring high-quality, innovative products and services for our B2B clientele. Note. We manufacture lights but assist the design and installation through lighting design, training and support.
The Role
We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Business Development Manager to help expand our market presence across the UK (and eventually overseas). Your focus will be on forging strong relationships with design firms, contractors, and specifiers, as well as creating strategic partnerships that position Hudson Lighting as the go-to source for outdoor and specialty lighting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Relationship Building
Proactively connect with landscape designers, electricians, and trade professionals to increase brand visibility and product specification.
- Event Coordination
Plan and host “lunch and learn” sessions, workshops, and industry events—both on-site and in partnership with complementary suppliers—to showcase our expertise and build credibility.
- Market Expansion
Identify new market segments and strategic partnership opportunities, working closely with our in-house lighting designer to deliver value-added services.
- Collaboration
Work with our Marketing and Operations teams to align on lead-generation campaigns, promotional materials, and client onboarding processes.
- Reporting & Strategy
Maintain a clear pipeline of new business leads, provide weekly progress updates, and contribute to quarterly revenue targets and growth strategies.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Experience in Business Development or B2B Sales, ideally within construction, electrical, landscaping, or related industries.
- Networker and Relationship Builder with a track record of forging and maintaining professional connections.
- Technical Aptitude or willingness to learn about lighting specs and installation processes (lighting/electrical background preferred).
- Self-Motivated and proactive, comfortable setting targets and working in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal) to engage a range of stakeholders—from site installers to senior decision-makers.
