As our Business Development Manager (m/f/d) in the maritime sector, you’ll be at the forefront of revolutionizing how port calls are coordinated. Your mission will be to identify new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and drive the adoption of our platform. With your expertise, you will help vessel operators, terminals, and all other relevant stakeholder groups to communicate seamlessly.

What you can expect

  • Shape Transformation: Shape the transition of the current founder-led sales organization towards a scalable sales organization.
  • Identify Opportunities: Proactively attract potential partners and customers for heyport by understanding their needs and sparking enthusiasm.
  • Manage the Sales Cycle: Oversee the full 360-degree sales process, from lead identification and product demos to closing the deal.
  • Drive Growth: Develop and implement customized sales strategies to onboard maritime stakeholders onto heyport.
  • Show Expertise: Represent heyport as an expert at national and international events, forums, and conferences in the maritime industry.
  • Build Networks: Establish and maintain extensive networks with existing and potential customers, partners, and key players in the maritime industry.
  • Stay Ahead: Utilize your expertise in maritime logistics to identify current market trends and continuously optimize our products and sales processes.
  • Collaborate for Success: Work closely with our product, marketing, and technical teams to ensure continuous improvement and development of our platform.

What you bring to the table

  • Several years of experience in business development or sales within the maritime industry or SaaS B2B models.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges and dynamics of port call coordination in the maritime supply chain. Understand market trends and how to use them to pitch new products to customers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills tailored to the industry’s unique needs.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities specific to the maritime sector.
  • A pioneering spirit, entrepreneurial mindset, and passion for driving positive change in a startup environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Proficient level of English language skills (additional language skills are a big plus
