About the Opportunity - Hardware
We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Business Development Manager – VIC and Melbourne Metro. Your primary responsibility will be to grow both trade and retail sales within the Independent Hardware Group business. You will maintain solid relationships with store principals within a defined region of retailers, as well as increasing sales from existing and sourcing new customers. The current defined area / region requirement for this role is for the Gippsland Region and Melbourne Metro require up to 8 overnight stays per month.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct benchmarking, develop business plans with a focus on both Trade & Retail including competitor analysis, structure, operational improvement, cost of doing business and new business opportunities for targeted stores
  • Support store development activity, relays & refurbishments through store assessments and action plans.
  • Promote critical success factors, Price, Standards, Convenience, Range, Customer Service, Trade & Local marketing activities.
  • Grow Store Trade and Retail sales

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Knowledge of FMCG industry, ownership structures and the end to end supply lifecycle i.e. vendor/ warehouse/ hardware/ retail/ wholesale/ independents
  • Experience managing conflicting stakeholder needs and priorities
  • Experience using sales data and analytics to generate insights, provide business solutions and influence decision making
  • Experience with cross functional liaison, building and maintaining relationships with a diverse groups and stakeholders both
