The Organisation
Optometry Australia (OA) is the peak professional membership body for Australian optometrists and represents over 85% of all registered optometrists. OA is the national body of a federated group of five state membership organisations, each organisation being members of OA and each having optometrists as their members.
OA supports the state organisations through the provision of core member services and benefits to their optometrist members, and provides most operational functions for Optometry Victoria/South Australia, Optometry Tasmania and Optometry Queensland/Northern Territory.

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play an integral role in enhancing Optometry Australia’s membership proposition through expanded services that benefit members professionally and personally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, assessing, and addressing risks and emerging opportunities to achieve strategy
  • Developing and implementing a stakeholder engagement and revenue strategy focused on customer offerings and income diversification
  • Identifying ways to expand existing, and develop new, revenue opportunities
  • Negotiating and managing contracts and contractual obligations and building after-sales support programs

Skills Required

You’re a collaborative team player, with demonstrated ability in business development or a similar role. You come with a proven sales track record, together with negotiation, rapport & relationship building expertise, and ability to:

  • Travel interstate regularly
  • Confidently identify trends and ideas through industry research
  • Manage multiple projects and provide advice around project deliverables
