About the job

Operations Manager

Full-Time: ;Remote

Compensation: based on experience

We're not hiring an administrator. We're hiring an operator. We are a fast-growing e-commerce / DTC brand building a lean, systems-driven business made to scale. We move fast, run tight, and believe operational excellence is the foundation of growth. This role is for someone who turns complexity into clarity — building the systems, accountability, and supply chain backbone that let the business run without friction, bottlenecks, or chaos. If you're obsessed with well-oiled machines, live in your KPIs, and have moved product across the China → US pipeline, keep reading.

Who You Are

You take ownership and treat the business like your own. You document and systemize messy processes by instinct. You surface problems early, have the hard conversations without flinching, and let nothing slip. You work autonomously — no daily hand-holding required — and you're happiest when you've built the machine that makes everyone else faster.

  • What Makes You a Standout (Preferred)You've operated across both China and US markets — managing overseas suppliers/manufacturers, China → US freight, customs, tariffs, and lead times, while serving US customers and channels.
  • You have strong, hands-on supply chain experience — inventory, forecasting, 3PL, freight, and vendor management — not theory, but real ownership of keeping product flowing.
  • You run on KPIs — you've built dashboards and role-based scorecards and used them to hold a team (and yourself) accountable.
  • What You'll Own1. Supply Chain & Fulfillment (core to this role)Own inventory tracking, demand forecasting, and reorder cycles — preventing both stockouts and overstock
  • Manage supplier and manufacturer relationships (including China-based partners) and hold them to lead times and quality
  • Coordinate freight and shipment timelines across the China → US pipeline; navigate customs, duties, and tariffs
  • Manage 3PL relationships and monitor SLAs
  • Continuously optimize supply chain cost, speed, and reliability
  • 2. KPIs, Systems & SOPsBuild and maintain operational dashboards and KPI trackers so performance is always visible
  • Document SOPs and job scorecards for every role and process in Notion — zero reliance on tribal knowledge
  • Audit workflows, kill bottlenecks, and use AI tools to automate repetitive work
  • 3. People Management & AccountabilityServe as the day-to-day point of contact for the team
  • Run weekly standups and structured 1:1s; track performance against role-based scorecards
  • Lead monthly/quarterly reviews, underperformance conversations, and PIPs when needed
  • Process contractor and team payments accurately and on time
  • Build a culture of ownership and accountability
  • 4. Hiring & OnboardingRun the hiring pipeline when roles open (posting, screening, assessments, scheduling)
  • Maintain current job descriptions and scorecards; build structured onboarding so new hires ramp fast
  • Oversee a recruiter if/when added
  • 5. Cost Visibility & Financial OversightTrack recurring operational spend (tools, subscriptions, vendors) and flag anomalies
  • Deliver a monthly OPEX summary with insights and budget vs. actuals
  • Support data-driven operational decisions

Requirements

  • Requirements2+ years in Operations or Project Management within e-commerce or DTC
  • Hands-on supply chain experience: inventory, 3PL, freight, forecasting (required)
  • Advanced Notion and/or ClickUp user (required)
  • Uses AI tools daily to build systems and automate workflows
  • Experience managing remote teams across time zones
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting basic financial reports
  • Experience managing hiring pipelines
