Sarens Canada is currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager based out of our Fort Saskatchewan, AB office.
This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the VP Western Canada.

As a skilled professional, you will be tasked with ensuring the team at Sarens Canada is provided with exceptional services. Specifically, you will be tasked with:

  • Grow an in-depth knowledge of Sarens’ equipment, its possibilities, the clients’ current infrastructure and needs for lifting and transportation services in order to become the clients’ most trusted and knowledgeable advisor on Sarens’ services.
  • Effectively representing Sarens, building new and maintaining existing relationships with customers and other stakeholders, focusing on expanding Sarens’ customer base throughout the various local markets.
  • Preparation of clear quotes and follow up with clients after submittal until award or lost status.
  • Pro-actively reporting relevant customer and sales data in CRM, analyzes sales pipeline and defines appropriate personal actions to achieve sales targets.
  • Achieving sales & business development objectives as set out in the annual sales plan for self and/or sales team.
  • Work with staff from various departments to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue
  • Conduct research to identify potential clients
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and networking.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business growth targets.
  • Utilize Salesforce for tracking leads, managing customer interactions, and reporting on sales activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development efforts with overall company goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify potential threats and opportunities.
  • Prepare presentations and proposals for prospective clients to showcase our services.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development or sales roles, with a strong understanding of customer relationship management.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM software for managing leads and client interactions.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong project management capabilities, ensuring timely execution of initiatives.
  • Experience in complex and competitive environments
  • Experience with cranes, heavy transport or heavy equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas clearly.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market conditions and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
