We have an exciting opportunity for an emerging Business Development Manager to support our national Commercial Insurance practices. Based in Sydney, this role will work directly with our insurance partners and Head of Business Development, Zac Robinson.
About the role
This is a rare opportunity for a Senior BD Consultant / Executive to step up into your first BDM role, or for an emerging BDM to be mentored and developed by the Head of BD. Working directly with the insurance partners, you will be supporting in providing timely and reliable BD services to enable effective implementation of the practice groups strategic plans.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategising and driving client relationship management activities for key clients, with support from the Head of BD and other BD & Marketing team members
  • Qualifying, producing (drafting and sourcing content), and project managing bids and quotes. Including managing pre-bid as well as post-bid submission activities including chairing kick-off meetings, conducting tender debriefs, and compliance with the bids processes and systems
  • Capturing and maintaining all relevant matter information for use in bids and capability statements, CVs, website and legal directory submissions, with support from the Insurance BD Coordinator and communications team members
  • Developing and implementing leading marketing campaigns, extracting maximum value for money for marketing spend
  • Project managing the development and execution of a content marketing strategy
  • Project managing the development and maintenance of a full suite of Insurance marketing materials
  • Working collaboratively with the BD and Marketing & Communications teams, providing assistance and support as needed

About you

  • The successful candidate must have prior business development experience in the insurance industry, either from a law firm or insurer
  • You will need exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including experience in delivering strong written tenders and capability documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • A genuine interest in keeping up to date with insurance industry trends and the implications for the firm and our key clients
