Responsibilities:
PURPOSE
The Business Development Manager is responsible for delivering new business/logos and supporting continuous improvement of our outbound strategy. By working closely with Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Finance, this role will help source new business opportunities, access new customer segments and bring in new clients, and diversify Stocksy’s client-driven revenue streams.
Working cross-functionally with other stakeholding groups within and outside of Stocksy’s team, the Business Development Manager leads outbound sales initiatives to drive revenue growth by building relationships with new clients. This role requires a high level of proactivity, perseverance, adaptability, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Hours: 35 hours/week, 9:00am to 5:00pm PST, Monday to Friday (or as agreed upon with Team Lead). Overtime may be required as part of annual salary. There may be certain instances, such as attending industry events or catering to clients in different timezones, that may require the Employee to work beyond regular office hours or on weekends as part of the annual compensation. Some travel may be required. All conditions of employment will be in accordance with the BC Employment Standards Act.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement, optimize, and continuously evaluate outbound sales strategy
- Conduct high-level market research, competitive analysis, and customer needs evaluation to highlight opportunity present within new customer segments and markets
- Define, drive, assess, and be accountable to department objectives through regular analytics and reporting on core key results
- Constantly have a pulse on sales trends to ensure Stocksy maintains a competitive advantage with current and future opportunities, pivoting sales plans when needed to adjust to market conditions
- Manage and oversee Stocksy’s outbound sales cycles in collaboration with Finance and Legal
- Provide insights on pricing, messaging, packaging, promotion, and selling of new and existing products
- Support outbound sales efforts with event planning and participation
- Continually evaluate new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize outbound performance
- Work with the Sales Director and Legal to negotiate master agreements and contracts Attend industry events, community meetups, and client meetings on Stocksy’s behalf
