ABOUT US
The Department of Anthropology at UCL is a research-led department with an international reputation, offering innovative teaching programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in both Bloomsbury and at UCL East.
The Ethnographic Insights Lab (EI-Lab) was established within UCL Anthropology in 2022 and is currently seeking to develop an industry profile and client base. It provides a rigorous social scientific understanding of human and organisational behaviour to develop human-centred solutions to complex challenges for a range of clients across government, industry, and public health. The Lab embeds teams of distinguished researchers from UCL’s world-class Anthropology department within organisations to observe, participate, facilitate, and co-produce knowledge.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to work in a dynamic and innovative research environment and collaborate with leading anthropology researchers.
You will be responsible for establishing and developing the consultancy activities of the EI-Lab, and you will be involved in strategic planning, business development, client engagement, and operational management to expand the lab’s impact and reach.

The position will be available in early 2025, initially for six months. There is some flexibility regarding the duration of the initial contract, depending on the FTE agreed, and potential to extend the role subject to funding. Although advertised as a 0.75 FTE part-time position, there is some flexibility with the exact FTE/hours for this role, which can be negotiated with the successful candidate, making it particularly suitable for someone wishing to undertake this position alongside other freelance or consultancy role(s).
