Description:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, Computational Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in technical sales, business development, or field application engineering, ideally in simulation, automation, electronics, or embedded systems. Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink or real-time simulation tools is a plus.
- Languages: Fluent in English and German (C1); knowledge of French is advantageous.
- Skills: High integrity, curiosity, flexibility, synthesis skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit.
- Willingness to Travel: Willing to travel primarily within Germany and occasionally across Europe (approximately 25%).
QUALIFIKATIONEN
- Bildung: Master- oder Bachelor-Abschluss in Elektrotechnik, Automatisierungstechnik, Mechatronik, Computertechnik, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen oder einem verwandten technischen Bereich.
- Erfahrung: Mindestens 2 Jahre Erfahrung im technischen Vertrieb, Business Development oder als Field Application Engineer, idealerweise im Bereich Simulation, Automatisierung, Elektronik oder eingebettete Systeme. Kenntnisse in MATLAB/Simulink oder Echtzeitsimulationstools sind von Vorteil.
- Sprachen: Fließend in Deutsch und Englisch (C1); Französischkenntnisse sind von Vorteil.
- Fähigkeiten: Hohe Integrität, Neugier, Flexibilität, ausgeprägtes Synthesevermögen, exzellente Kommunikationsfähigkeiten und Teamgeist.
- Reisebereitschaft: Bereitschaft, hauptsächlich innerhalb Deutschlands und gelegentlich in Europa zu reisen (ca. 25%).

ABOUT THE ROLE
OPAL-RT Germany GmbH, the DACH-region subsidiary of OPAL-RT Technologies, is actively seeking a Business Development Manager to drive sales and growth within Germany. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work at the forefront of innovative computing technologies, playing a vital part in the integration of renewable energy, the transition to green energy, and advancements in transport electrification.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Business Development Manager, you will:
- Drive the promotion and sale of OPAL-RT’s solutions to industrial clients, research institutions, and universities within power systems, power electronics, automotive, and aerospace sectors.
- Achieve sales targets in the German market and contribute to the growth strategy within the DACH region.
- Develop new customer relationships and maintain existing ones to secure repeat business.
- Manage complex sales cycles, from opportunity generation to contract negotiation and closing.
- Coordinate responses to client requests, mobilizing internal resources (pre-sales, R&D, management) to deliver tailored solutions.
- Present innovative and technically complex systems to customers, including software demonstrations where applicable.
- Lead responses to German and European tenders and participate in marketing events such as trade fairs, conferences, and workshops.
