Description:

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT – MINING AND RAIL

The Business Development representative will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities in the mining and rail transportation. This role requires a deep understanding of the steel industry, particularly in the application of steel structures in buried and underground environments. The candidate will be expected to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, drive sales growth, and ensure the successful implementation of business strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the steel industry or a related field.
  • Proven track record of securing and managing large-scale projects in the mining, rail transportation, or tunnel sectors.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of steel structures and their applications in buried environments.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and market trends to make informed business decisions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

Responsibilities:

  • Market Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential opportunities in the mining, rail transportation, and tunnel sectors.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform business strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a database of potential clients and projects.
  • Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for steel buried structures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth:
  • Achieve sales targets and revenue goals set by the organization.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop effective sales strategies and campaigns.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Engage with industry associations, attend conferences, and participate in trade shows to enhance the company’s visibility and network.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities, client interactions, and project progress.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development performance and present to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
