SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Experience of working within the IT or digital sector
  • Experience stakeholder management
  • Willingness to work across all sectors
  • Proven track record of sales or appointment setting, demonstrating at least 18 months’ experience in a comparable role
  • B2B experience (including sales engagements, purchasing processes, post-sale support, and partnership building)
  • Confident communicator and adaptable, thriving under pressure and motivated by results
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload
  • Customer service skills – dealing with customers on the phone, via email, on Teams
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft package – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
  • The willingness to learn new software and technology
  • Experience of using a CRM system (Desirable)
  • Experience of Government funded training (Desirable)
  • Full UK driving license (Essential)

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The role will receive and take forward researched leads and communicate with prospective new leads, communicating how we can work together to understand and meet their requirements. You will be calling a variety of leads from our database of contacts and website sign ups, adapting your approach for each time of call. The Business Development Officer will be work within the sales department to help generate qualified leads, across a range of channels including, social media, email, paid media, website and more. They will also provide sales support in dealing with the inbound leads – providing a first point of call to all inbound leads within the IT and digital sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop relationships with potential clients
  • Make initial contact (by phone or other communication channels) to new leads and follow up any new enquiry to the business
  • Ensure all required consent is obtained for the sending of our offers and company news (GDPR compliance)
  • Co-ordinate business development support where needed
  • Support other members of the sales team
  • Bring ideas to the table and be a part of the sales planning process
  • Be the first point of contact for all IT/Digital inbound leads, including phone, email, website Live chat, social media messages/comments
  • Utilise the CRM system to aid effective and timely processing of inbound leads
  • Any other activities to support the sales department
