  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends
  • Experience with Symitar core and Meridian Link software preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE

Serves as Downey Federal Credit Union’s (DFCU) external associate, responsible for developing new business. The Universal Associate 3 – Business Development (BD) represents DFCU externally at community and sales events, and knows how to develop sales through relationship cultivation. BD can also assist in branch and contact center settings if/when needed. BD is a proactive self-starter who thrives on building relationships, accountability, and communication.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Targets new business development opportunities on behalf of the credit union. This includes presentations, events, networking, and direct sales (i.e. Lunch & Learns)
  • Will conduct visitations to various companies and facilities. Will be responsible for asking for business, maintaining relationships, making presentations, and public speaking to promote credit union membership.
  • Reports in to and works with Contact Center Manager to develop a sales and leads pipeline to determine best sales path forward.
  • Acts as the main point of contact during the development life cycle. This includes from initial contact with potential members to membership opening and/or loan funding.
  • Works with all stakeholders across the credit union to ensure a smooth membership experience – stakeholders include lending, operations, contact center, accounting, and marketing.
  • Works closely with the Community Engagement Specialist and the marketing team to plan out event appearances and development opportunities. This includes developing promotional and incentive offers.
  • Will participate in public relations in the form of serving on various community committees strategically selected to enhance the credit unions visibility in the community.
  • Source Select Employer Group (SEG) development opportunities to drive signups to our SEG incentive package. This includes consistent office and business visits to businesses and organizations in DFCU’s field of membership.
  • Responsible for meeting agreed upon membership and loan funding monthly minimums.
  • Sporadically and when needed, will help with contact center, branch, and lending department operations. This could include processing member transactions.
  • Assists members in the loan application process to ensure all required information is obtained to facilitate expeditious underwriting and decisioning.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of the features and benefits of all credit union products and services in order to offer the most appropriate products to members. Keeps abreast of marketing promotions and educates members on new credit union benefits and offerings.
  • Must be comfortable presenting to groups of any size and asking for referrals when appropriate. Events and presentations might sometimes happen on evenings and weekends.
  • Performs all other related duties as requested by management.
