Description:
OVERVIEW
The Business Development Specialist (EPIC) is a professional, exempt, non-overtime eligible position that reports to the Business Development Manager (EPIC). The Business Development Specialist (EPIC) is responsible for supporting the EPIC product line. This involves sales, R&D, product development, and technical support of the EPIC instrument and reagents. Due to the travel required for this position it is strongly preferred that potential candidates live within a two (2) hour drive from a major airport.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The position based out of a home office; requires travel up to 40% both domestically and internationally with some instances requiring extended overnight stays.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information during frequent communications with distributors and customers who have inquiries about the product, invoice or shipping confirmation.
- Occasionally must be able to lift up to 45 pounds, as well as handle travel gear.
- Constantly operates general office equipment as well as operates and demonstrates company equipment.
- Able to stand; walk; use hands or finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Due to required travel this position may experience weather and temperature fluctuations.
- High levels of stress often occur; must be able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the growth and maintenance of the EPIC business both domestically and internationally.
- Work with international distributors to support their EPIC markets as well as help grow their business.
- Provide technical support and diagnostic troubleshooting to distributors and direct customers.
- Manage all sales-related administrative duties for EPIC and other Charm products, such as entering leads into the CRM database and submitting expense reports, call activity reports, quotations and sales contracts.
- Sales team support may be required to travel outside US. Trade show participation is required.
- Works closely to provide updates to marketing department on competitive situations. Helps develop marketing material as needed.
- Work on selling and promoting EPIC product line in current and future markets– low and high acid products, cosmetic, personal care products, pharmaceutical etc.
- Assist with Charm R&D groups to develop EPIC reagents/procedures to target growth in these areas.
