Description:

The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Admissions/Marketing Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, established policies and procedures and as may be directed by the Administrator.

  1. Duties and Responsibilities (Admission and Marketing)
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the admissions/marketing programs of this facility. Other responsibilities include developing departmental policies and procedures, developing positive relationships between the nursing facility and community, promoting effective relationships within the nursing facility, and developing programs to meet resident health care needs.
  • Responsible for working with local hospitals and civic organizations to promote Ollie Steele Burden Manor, Inc. and develop admissions. Provides community education to various groups upon request. Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family. Maintain a quality working relationship with the medical profession and other health related facilities and organizations.
  • Oversees communication needs for assigned product lines, directs all phases of print advertising by ensuring accurate product content and placement that accurately reflect high quality standards. Responsible for coordination within ancillary operations, reviews, and controls the use of equipment and supplies, and serves on administrative committees
  • Receives and coordinates disposition of incoming calls from physicians, mid-level providers, institutions, and patients. Triages, analyzes, and assesses calls to determine their nature, urgency, and eligibility for services.
  • Coordinates admission paperwork and transfer of all nursing facility admissions. Act as liaison between Business Office in obtaining payment for initial monthly room and board rate and resident trust fund.
  • Refer resident/families to social service department when the facility does not provide the services or needs of the resident. Provide information as necessary to resident/families as to Medicare/Medicaid and other financial assistance programs available to the resident. Interview residents or family members as necessary, to obtain social history.
  • Evaluate and implement recommendations from established committees as they may pertain to admissions/marketing. Coordinate admissions/marketing activities with other departments as necessary. Work with the facility’s consultants as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
  1. Quality Performance
  • Monitors division performance in accordance with our four organizational priorities of patient and customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, financial performance, and operational excellence. Serve on, participate in, and attend various committees of the facility as required, and as appointed by the Administrator.
  • Assist in development, administering, and coordinating of department policies and procedures. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the admissions/marketing needs. Keep abreast of current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards, and make recommendations on changes in policies and procedures to the Administrator
  • Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting such to the Administrator and DHH as required. Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies
  • Coordinate OSBM, Inc. quarterly board meetings, prepares and sends meeting materials. Responsible for recording meeting information
  • Participates in SSD Marketing PIT team.
  • Provides education and in-services if necessary.
  • Assist managers in identifying problems and developing tools.

  • Develop a volunteer pool for weekend activities
