Job Description
The Sr. Manager, Fintech Business Development is responsible pursuing and executing new commercial & strategic partnerships with fintechs in North America and around the globe. The role requires a business acumen, deep industry experience and contacts, business development experience, product knowledge, and an individual who can formulate and pursue strategies to find meaningful growth for Visa.
The opportunity is to join Visa’s Digital Partnerships team which works broadly across the payments and fintech ecosystem and closely internally within Visa’s product organization as well as other internal stakeholders to execute on commercial and strategy partnership opportunities, and other strategic projects. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Business Development:
Structure and execute commercial agreements directly with fintechs and enablers, with a focus on money movement segment, but with a broad fintech lens as well
Bring & further develop vertical expertise in key fintech growth areas and develop segment strategies to grow Visa’s footprint including money movement, processing, digital banking, consumer & business lending
Thought Leadership:
Provide market and client feedback to Visa product teams to guide roadmap and prioritization decisions, and go-to-market and commercialization strategies
Support PR & represent Visa at industry events and evangelize for Visa’s programs and strategic priorities
Develop an ’open front door’ narrative and approach, finding ways to support and be helpful across a wider swath of the ecosystem
Identity & help to sponsor Visa Venture investments
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
  • A minimum of 8+ years business experience with related product or business development experience in payments, financial services, or fintech industries
  • Leads by example, including enthusiasm and takes pride in their work, with a

strong bias towards action

  • Strong existing Fintech, payments, or banking experience, acumen, network,

and vision

  • 5+ years business experience with multiple business and product functions
  • Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing complex,

competitive commercial deals from negotiation, to closing and through

delivery

  • Proven record of implementing strategic initiatives, policies and operational

decisions

  • Strong storytelling capabilities and passion for improving financial services
  • Accountable and results-oriented mindset
  • Proven ability to partner, communicate and manage/navigate through multiple

disciplines and organizational groups

  • Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, and to

influence senior management and other relevant parties

  • Soft skills including genuine and open communication, active listening,

compassionate, and inspires others
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
