Description:

Your mission:
We are looking for someone to identify and drive new opportunities (i.e products/services, technologies, markets) for Epson across Europe. In doing so you will also enhance the global direction for these solutions. You will focus on business development activities and partner business co-creation, whilst supporting the Global HQ Strategy Office in developing the future long-term strategy of the Seiko Epson Corporation. This is a unique opportunity to join a department which has amazing potential for growth! The position could be based from Germany or the UK with travel across Europe when needed. Other European locations may be considered.
What you will do:

Business development

  • Identify and develop strategic relationships with key channel and technology partners and app developers, to ensure successful implementation of business transformation initiatives to achieve both immediate and mid term goals
  • Support the Business Units in developing new and additional recurring revenue opportunities linked to current and future recurring revenue programs
  • Develop and maintain a business development strategy, including a detailed market analysis (TAM, SAM, SOM) and a mid-term business plan.

Go-to market strategy

  • Define a clear value proposition for each project and create the Go-to-Market strategy.
  • Drive the execution of global business programs, including defining project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
  • Work closely with the sales companies and global business units to capture the local opportunities and support the implementation (act as a point of contact and coordination)
  • Create, maintain, and present independent regional ‘market state’ reports including technology developments, key project activities, competitor landscapes, opportunities, and threats.

Business Management

  • As part of structured projects and in cooperation with IT, Software development and Service/Technical support departments, coordinate the implementation and adoption of the newly developed business models, processes and systems across all departments and Business Units.

Technology & Long-Term Strategy

  • Stay current on industry trends and advancements and recommend new technologies and solutions as appropriate.
  • Follow Europe and Global market trends, visit relevant industry events and maintain relationships with key industry partners and customers.
  • Work closely with the product Business Units in defining the development of new products to help achieve global sales, marketing, and revenue goals.
  • Support the Global HQ in defining the comprehensive future directions, the development of Epson Connect and Middleware and in managing the Global Partner relationship to help achieve global business transformation strategy and revenue goals.

Communication

  • Communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience, and effectively communicate the benefits of Business Development & Strategy Department’s initiatives to stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement and lead cross-functional teams to drive digital initiatives according to the project organizations defined per each project to be delivered.
  • Act as a role model and ensure a culture of diversity and inclusion in the function.

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of relevant technology trends. Ability to anticipate future market developments and utilise that foresight to drive business development and strategy direction change at Epson
  • Graduate level education in a technology or marketing background or equivalent.
  • Ability to identify the opportunities and the analytic skills to interpret and translate this into a comprehensive market approach.
  • Must have strong communication skills to convince stakeholders both internal and externally and be the focal point to get the consensus on how to approach this market (product, strategy).
  • Must have a hunter behaviour engaging with the new market and visiting them as often as needed.
  • Must understand channels and other partnering to define the most effective route to market for new programs.
  • Intermediate excel skills and highly IT literate
  • Ability to travel internationally on a regular basis
