Job Description

The Technology Director will oversee our application development, quality assurance, and technical operations across our office in Dubai. The role has three main areas of responsibility:

  • Internal Role. Define the strategy and organisational structure of the Dubai Technology capability to support both outsourcing and agency delivery capabilities. Drive recruitment initiatives for hiring key technology positions to grow and extend the capabilities of our office though strong leadership and guidance.
  • Client Role. Active involvement in new business development and client engagement at the technical level. Provide technical consulting and advisory services to senior client stakeholders, which may involve selection of technology platforms, defining the technology roadmap, and designing high level solution blueprint.
  • Partner Role. Selection, acquisition and management of successful relationships with technology partners which may include Salesforce, Sitecore, Adobe, IBM, Oracle, and others.

As part of this role, you will be involved in the sale, design, and delivery of technical projects across the broad spectrum – from small prototypes and proof of concepts, through to large scale platform implementations. This will involve defining and estimating the cost of technical solutions with minimal guidance, taking into account any business constraints or requirements. Having defined a solution, a technical director will present and defend the solution in front of clients, project plan the solution with a project manager and complete the technical architecture deliverables.
At this level colleagues will be running the technical aspects of vendor relationships and disseminating information regarding the various vendor offerings to the development and architecture teams.
Qualifications
 10 years plus of technology architecture, design, and delivery experience in relevant digital agencies, systems integration, or software development companies
 Strong experience across software development lifecycle from architecting solution designs, front-end development, application development (dev-ops, CI/CD), infrastructure & hosting, testing and quality assurance, deployment, through to application support.
 Detailed knowledge of digital technologies including content management systems, E-Commerce, mobile, marketing, and search technologies, and high-level knowledge of enterprise system architectures
 Experience in enterprise web content management systems (Adobe AEM, SiteCore, Drupal, WordPress)
 Good knowledge of Marketing Automation suites (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, Adobe Campaign, IBM Customer Experience, Marketo)
 An excellent track record in leading technology teams and delivery with global client brands in multi-cultural, multi-agency and network teams
 Authentic leadership qualities when working within project or pitch teams
 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
