Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Execution Consultant in the Payments Operations - Wires team. This team is responsible for processing and settlement of wire transfers that require formatting, routing, repair and various payments exceptions in support of our Consumer, Commercial and Correspondent Bank customers.
In addition, this position will also provide payments expertise to partners and wire exceptions employees, research and investigate wire payments, serve as a liaison with the Investigations Team, EWS Risk Management Operations team, and have the opportunity to network horizontally across the organization and work with senior leaders. In this role, you will:

  • Participate in a variety of assigned and ongoing business operations to ensure success in meeting business goals and objectives in Payments operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement by conducting root cause analysis of payments that stopped for repair, identify formatting errors and proposing routing rules changes.
  • Perform Straight-through processing analysis.
  • Perform transactions verifications in Wire Applications.
  • Review and research strategies and action plans to establish effective processes while meeting performance metrics and policy expectations
  • Utilize independent judgment to guide moderate risk deliverables
  • Present recommendations to develop, implement, and monitor strategic approaches, effectiveness of support function, and business performance improvement opportunities for managing risks of the business
  • Exercise independent judgment and provide guidance in diverse support functions and operations for a single business group within a line of business
  • Collaborate and consult with leaders and executive management
  • Provide work direction to less experienced payments operations staff
  • May be known as an in-house authority for technical, operational and/or processing functions that impact other groups, areas or activities.
  • Perform GL balancing, identify breaks, perform root cause analysis, corrective action and documentation. Work closely with Production Support team to resolve the issues/breaks.

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 2+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years Payments Experience
  • Strong sense of ownership; takes full responsibility for end-to end execution of assignments or daily tasks.
  • Curious in nature, question the status quo, explore new ideas, open the door to transform the way the business is done.
  • Effective at analyzing large sets of data using Excel, Tableau
  • Comfortable presenting opinions - pros and cons to management at all levels.
  • Attention to detail and ability to spot mistakes quickly.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience within a high volume, fast paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of compliance controls, risk management and loss prevention.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important.

Job Expectations:

  • Currently working a Hybrid Schedule, subject to change following the Wells Fargo Corporate policy.
  • Ability to support End of Day (EOD) task on a rotation basis. The US based wires team has multiple shifts starting at 8AM EST - 8PM EST covering both the Federal Reserve (Fedwire) and Clearing House Interbank Payment System (CHIPS) hours of operation.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed to support wire processing for Fedwire Extensions.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed including weekends to support Operational Readiness Testing.
