Description:

Westland Milk Products is a well-known New Zealand end-to-end dairy manufacturer based in the beautiful South Island with offices and production facilities based in both Christchurch and Hokitika. Owned by the Global Top 5 dairy company Yili Group, Westland Milk Products and its related companies in New Zealand - Oceania Dairy (Glenavy), Pure Nutrition Ltd (Rolleston), Canary Foods (Hamilton) and EasiYo (Auckland) - form a group that we refer to as the Yili Oceania Business Division (YOBD). The combined business produces over 170,000mt of finished goods which are then exported to over 40 countries, driving annual revenue well in excess of $1.3B - and growing.

Responsibilities:

Working as part of a committed and passionate team of 3 Business Improvement Specialists, this role will help drive a business improvement programme of work through process analysis and development across YOBD in line with our strategy and business plans.
Based in Christchurch (Hornby) and reporting to our Business Improvement Manager, the role will focus on the overall improvement of business process productivity and efficiency, and ensuring the deployment of best practice in everything YOBD does.

More specifically, responsibilities will include:-

  • Utilising appropriate process improvement methodologies and relevant tools to identify and manage risks, improve processes, and transfer knowledge of best practice to the business
  • Improving business productivity and process development and hence profitability across YOBD
  • Working with all staff, particularly functional experts to deconstruct technical information in order to develop functional requirements for improvement and process improvement plans.
  • Assessing and developing business cases and project concepts
  • Assisting with the design, development and deployment of critical information and software systems
  • Developing and assisting in ongoing programmes of process innovation and continuous improvement
  • Ensuring strong relationships are built and maintained across all levels of all YOBD companies
