Overview:
Expected pay for this position is $64.09 - $75.41/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Informatics Pharmacist utilizes a combination of computer, information, and pharmacy science to analyze pharmacy data, transforming it into actionable information. This role combines supply chain pharmacy with business informatics to support financial stewardship through contract integrity, outpatient reimbursement review, managing denials, general ledger (GL) continuity, and reporting information for OSF administrators into data that will impact business and clinical decisions. The position also emphasizes developing and implementing meaningful reports for the pharmacy enterprise while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including, but not limited to, senior leadership, ministry pharmacy, supply chain, contract management, medical group, ambulatory and specialty pharmacy, 340B team, information technology, and nursing.

Responsibilities:

Supports pharmacy supply chain and pharmacy enterprise to integrate initiatives and produce data driven outcomes utilizing Microsoft applications driving financial and clinical results.
Provides expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining efficient data management, advocating for management in promoting technology use to make informed selections that will have a direct impact on business and clinical decisions.
Oversees outpatient reimbursement reviews and ensures contract integrity, addressing denial management to optimize pharmacy revenue.
Reviews medication pricing utilizing a weighted distribution model to make data-driven decisions and align ministry pharmacy national drug codes (NDCs).
Develops and implements meaningful reports for the pharmacy enterprise, including leadership financial report outs and ensuring GL continuity.
Represents Pharmacy Services in council work groups to develop metrics, clinical tools, reports, and workflows. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive reporting.
Works with IT to facilitate changes within the inventory management system to align with results acquired from data reviews. Ensures these changes are completed effectively and communicated to the appropriate leadership.
Oversees blockchain contract integrity requiring vendor accountability review to ensure accuracy in procurement and invoicing.
Utilizes extensive 340B knowledge and the 340B overlay to analyze WAC purchases and enhance financial outcomes with utilization of analytics.
Engages in continuous quality improvement efforts aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, satisfaction, and resource utilization. Forecasts drug shortages through historical data models. Performs comprehensive financial reviews upon request by contract administrators and/or leadership.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: 3 years of pharmacy experience.
Licensure/ Certification: Registered Pharmacist license through the state of Illinois or Michigan (dependent on location of employment)
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Extensive Excel skills with experience in utilizing advanced features for data management and analysis. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills to prioritize workload, identify issues, recommend changes, and improve processes and workflows. Knowledge of contract integrity and outpatient reimbursement processes. Familiarity with denial management, the 340B drug program, the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), and drug distribution methodologies. Proven use of complex pharmacy platforms including but not limited to inventory management systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: 5 years of hospital or health system pharmacy experience. Experience with an electronic health record. Experience with a pharmacy inventory management system Licensure/ Certification: Advanced certification utilizing Microsoft applications. Informatics certificate.
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Proficiency in multiple complex pharmacy platforms: Electronic Health Record (EHR), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), pharmacy inventory management, etc.
