Overview:
London Borough of Harrow has a great opportunity for an Business Intelligence Analyst to join the business intelligence team brings together performance, research and management information functions from across the Council, Directorate and Division. The service is to allow the council, with its partners, to make better use of research, data and intelligence to deliver evidenced based decision-making. The team is a key part of the Council’s aspirations to become a better commissioning organisation.
The role holder will perform an essential role primarily within the Early Help Service, in putting evidence at the heart of Council decisions through the provision of high-quality performance management information to Directors and managers to support improvement. This will involve the provision of professional expertise in the collection, collation, analysis and interpretation of data.
The role includes a career grade. The post holder can progress to the higher grade only by fulfilling the additional criteria shown below. Progression to a higher grade is not automatic on reaching the top of a lower grade. Please note, this position is a 1-year fixed term contract. Interviews will be held on 19th November 2024.
About you:

The successful candidate will have :

  • Must have a clear understanding of the diverse nature of Harrow’s communities and the implications for strategy and performance development.
  • Must have experience of working with Local Authority Housing data.
  • Knowledge of how data is stored in large computer systems and how reporting tools are used to extract data from them.
  • Experience of research involving data handling, analysis and interpretation.
  • Experience of working with large databases in a data management/handling role (not just as a database user).
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Excellent advanced ICT skills; advanced user of Excel.
  • High level communications skills both in writing and orally.
