Role Overview
Based in the Client Relationship Management (CRM) department of TPICAP, the CRM Junior Business Intelligence Analyst provides valuable analysis of trading performance. Collaborating with the Client Relationship Managers and working in conjunction with the senior managers of each asset class, the analyst highlights issues and trends and areas of opportunity. Based on these insights, action plans are developed to guide both internal and external decisions, ultimately enhancing the firm’s performance.
Role Responsibilities
The analyst serves as a link between the data function and the client-facing side of the CRM team, utilizing data intelligence tools to deliver both analysis and data summaries. The analysis tasks include:
- Provide monthly analysis to Senior Stakeholders across the group with deeper dives into the data as relevant.
- Collect and analyse global data to provide advanced analytics.
- Assist in developing financial models to assess customer behaviour and pricing trends, to generate actionable insights to provide CRM with a clearer understanding of customer patterns.
- Engage and prepare detailed insights for use in meetings to support Client Relationship Managers, to analyse the business, help identify areas of underperformance and target opportunities for growth.
- Produce detailed group wide analysis from both a customer and trader perspective to help evaluate performance and identify gaps with particular customers/traders, with the aim of improving overall market share. Provide follow up analysis and reviews of actions taken.
- Act as a resource for client-related ad hoc requests from the business globally, providing necessary detail to aid commercial decisions.
- Provide in depth analysis of our key clients to ensure any issues are identified in as timely a manner as possible.
- Assist in implementing automated data processes that streamline the collection, analysis, and reporting of data sets to provide a range of analysis for our global team to support all client initiatives.
- Cross-functional - work closely with key departments, such as Pricing, Tech, Finance, Data Services, BI and Risk.
- Cross-Divisional - work in collaboration and undertake projects with TP ICAP’s Divisions, Global Broking, Energy and Commodities, Liquidnet, Parameta Solutions.
- Provide advice and guidance to other team members when requested – for example, for specific projects, cross-divisional, regional analysis, opportunity analysis.
- Assist in monitoring the progress of particular initiatives, such as Global deals, to assess their impact to the organisation.
- Assist in the improvement of business intelligence tools – based on frequent requirements of senior management, recommend\lead the development of new dashboards, and help to scope, test and roll out, and work alongside our data services team.
Experience / Competences
Essential
- Good knowledge of financial products.
- Basic understanding of the key client base of the organisation.
- Good knowledge of financial markets data – including client, product, and business/desk hierarchies.
- Highly analytical with solid experience of presenting information to drive actions.
- Worked on projects involving financial data analysis or customer behaviour as part of coursework or final year thesis.
- Proficient in the consumption of dashboards, with ability to conceptually design same.
- Experience in extracting meaningful insights from large datasets and applying them to real-world problems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Team collaboration and Cross-functional experience, having worked in academic groups or internships on both the technical and non-technical side.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Desired
- Good understanding of the Interdealer Broker Market and current market trends would be an advantage.
- Having conducted quantitative analysis or developed financial models using tools like Python, SQL and any data visualisation tool such as Power BI \ Qlik \ Tableau, would be an advantage.
- Able to demonstrate hands-on application of finance and data skills.
