DESCRIPTION:
The Business Management programming at Northern Lights College offers a wide variety of courses for students interested in working toward a certificate, diploma, post-degree diploma, or advanced certificate at Northern Lights College or for those pursuing transfer credit to other post-secondary institutions.
NLC’s Business Management programs require an on-campus Instructor to deliver a wide array of courses across the Business Management curriculum. The successful applicant will be a flexible generalist. An example of the courses that the instructor may be expected to instruct are as listed:
- MGMT 103 Foundations in Financial Accounting Level I
- MGMT 104 Principles of Management
- MGMT 107 Fundamentals of Marketing
- MGMT 150 Business Mathematics
- MGMT 217 Business Systems Analysis and Design
- MGMT 225 Strategic Management
- MGMT 260 Principles of Corporate Finance I
- MGMT 301 Management Skills for Supervisors
- MGMT 302 Business Sustainability and the Environment
- MGMT 430 Business Ethics and Social Responsibility
- MGMT 450 Principles of Project Management
- ECON 102 Principles of Economics (Macro)
Final course assignment will be determined by the needs of student enrolment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- A North American Master’s Degree in Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Five years of work experience in a related discipline.
- Commitment to student motivation and success.
- Ability to function effectively as a team member through collaborative approaches to course pedagogy; and
- Current and valid driver’s license.
Preferred:
- Ph.D. in Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
- Previous experience with online and blended delivery methods.
- Experience in curriculum development and course design will be considered an asset.
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level; and
- Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
