Job Description
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Business Manager at the Sheboygan County YMCA i ntentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while also serving as a liaison between the branch and the association office regarding all financial transactions. The Business Manager also ensures the branch follows all business procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Two years or more years related business management or office management experience preferred.
  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts and applications including cash reconciliation, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Experience with standard business software and office machines.

Essential Functions

  • Manages branch accounts receivable. Ensures daily deposits of all cash. Reviews the daily cash reconciliation. Reviews and follow-ups on returned checks and bank drafts.
  • Responsible for the preparation, distribution, and filing of all payables for the Sheboygan County YMCA.
  • Assists branch staff and serves as the point person at the branch for software and business questions.
  • Assist the Finance Director in month-end closing procedures.
  • Oversees office functions such as petty cash, office equipment, and supplies, etc.
  • Assist in purchasing of supplies and equipment for the association.
  • Assist in special areas of Finance as needed, i.e. audit, budget process, etc.
  • Coordinates and supports assigned aspects of the annual support campaign at the branch.
  • Gathers relevant, valid data to make appropriate decisions.
  • Assist as assigned with Y program registration.
  • Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for financial transactions pertaining to the daily deposits of the Sheboygan YMCA.
  • Assist in child care billing.
