Looking for someone with combined experience in Human Resources and Business Office operations in a nursing home setting. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team with a strong sense of teamwork and dedication to excellence

OBJECTIVE

The Business Office Manager / Human Resources Director will support the talent in our facility and manage the clerical department and services. This is a key role in the facility that reports directly to the Executive Director.

HR Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain all human resources policies within the facility
  • Identify and clarify all hiring specifications with hiring managers, present accurate and detailed job descriptions and implement action plans to maximize candidate sourcing
  • Review all candidate applications, conduct initial phone screens as a first step of the interview process and schedule subsequent interviews accordingly
  • Solicit and collect interviewer feedback and manage the offer process
  • Maintain a weekly report, which includes a list of all open positions and candidates in the pipeline
  • Oversee the facility’s new hire onboarding and training programs
  • Process payroll and track employee attendance
  • Manage open enrollment and benefit administration throughout the year
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulations, industry trends, best practices and applicable laws regarding recruitment of candidates and employees

BOM Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate order of resident business files
  • Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance workflow, and/or improve the work environment
  • Prepare and submit reports on a timely basis as required and directed by the Business Office Director, the company and governmental agencies
  • Accumulate and maintain, in an organized manner, vital statistics relating to admissions, discharges, deaths, transfers and daily census of facility residents
  • Responsible for monthly Medicaid, Medicare, and other insurance billings along with timely follow-up with intermediaries on delinquent payments
  • Monitor and manage the accounts receivable collection process
  • Pursue past due accounts persistently and maintain proper back-up documentation
  • Obtain and submit all required documentation to bill third party payers as per program/company guidelines
  • Maintain financial records including cash receipts, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll journal, and general ledger, as directed
  • Attend department head meetings, seminars, and workshops, when approved, to assure current knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to bookkeeping functions
  • Responsible for ensuring daily bank deposits are made and reconciling all facility cash and checking accounts
  • Verify that resident trust is accurately recorded
  • Provide statistics to audit and reimbursement for year-end processing
  • Maintain an accurate accounting of patient trust funds including monthly reconciliation and quarterly statements to responsible parties. Reconcile petty cash for patient trust fund daily
  • Participate in the resident admission process
  • Other special projects and duties, as assigned
