PERSON SPECIFICATION: QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Technical Expertise: Experience with building and using data presentation software/products including Tableau and Power BI
  • Business Acumen: Commercially minded with the ability to develop a deep business understanding
  • Data Principles: Understands and applies principles of data to reporting, such as quality, model, confidentiality, definition, and management
  • Analytical Skills: Highly analytical and numerate individual with strong problem-solving skills and impeccable attention to detail
  • Relationship Building: Proven record in building and developing trusted relationships at all levels. Outstanding interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills with a proven ability to engage across functions
  • Continuous Improvement: Proven track record of focused continuous improvement with a technology-enabled mind-set
  • Qualifications: Relevant finance qualification such as ACCA or CIMA, 5-10 years PQE
  • Desirable: Commercially-oriented FP&A/FBP experience within asset management

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERALL

  • We are seeking a talented Senior Manager to join Financial Planning and Analysis & Finance Business Partnering function as the Business Performance Reporting & Development Senior Manager. This role will develop and provide focused reporting expertise that supports CBAMs strategy, in collaboration Business Partnering and Business teams.
  • As the owner of the Business Management Information and Reporting strategy, this role reports directly to the Head of FP&A, as well as acting as CBAMs’ Planning & Reporting Centre of Excellence, which provides enhanced reporting expertise and solutions at a CBAM and Business, and Functional level.
  • The role will synergise and guide CBAMs approach to reporting. The individual in this role should be able to draw upon technical knowledge and commercial insights, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, to drive, influence and challenge the business to achieve short and long term financial objectives.
  • The role offers the opportunity to develop and enhance existing skills whilst assisting the team in support of a business which is achieving significant growth within the UK wealth management market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and develop Business MI & Reporting to deliver high-quality reporting, drive continuous improvement and foster excellent working relationships with stakeholders
  • Stakeholder Engagement: engage with key stakeholders across business departments to understand data needs, delivering tailored reports and dashboards that drive strategic decisions. Discuss and implement improvements such as standardisation, automation, self-service uptake, consolidation, and best practices
  • Develop a strong finance data governance strategy, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance. A significant part of the role will involve collaborating with teams across CBAM, such as Proposition, Operations, and Data Services to align data initiatives with business objectives. The cross-functional work will improve our data operations and foster a unified approach to using data effectively across all areas of the business
  • Technical Ownership: Manage agreed metrics and the data dictionary, ensuring clarity and consistency across all reporting
  • Embed continuous improvement of process through simplification and automation to help drive efficiency and consistency in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management information and reporting
  • Develop monthly and quarterly reporting, through compilation of clear and accurate MI of a consistently high quality that analyses funds under management, asset flows, revenue and expenses drivers
  • Provide accurate, timely and relevant, business analysis and insights and MI to support the business in tracking, forecasting and evaluating results, trends and initiatives
  • Responding to ad-hoc queries and projects and providing support to the business heads, senior management, CFO and FP&A team

REGULATORY RESPONSIBILITIES (COMPLIANCE/T&C)

  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the role, whilst practising effective risk management taking account of outcomes for clients.
