Description:

Founded in 1925 and a leader in the production of Stainless Steels, Nickel Alloys and Titanium Long products, Valbruna is a private company with 2,700 employees and an annual output of approx. 250,000 tons of specialty steels. Production is primarily focused on Stainless Steels and Specialty Alloys, available in blooms and billets, ingots, round, square, flat, hexagonal and angle bars, wire rod, wire, reinforcement bars and threaded rods, with the expressed goal of satisfying the most sophisticated needs of the customer. To that end, Valbruna is constantly updating its production capabilities and experience.

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Business Solutions Analyst specializing in MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) within the steel industry, with a strong focus on project management and functional responsibilities. This role involves supporting the manufacturing area through infrastructure setup, configuration, and support. The analyst will work closely with Solution Architects and Enterprise teams to manage hosting infrastructure and databases, ensuring compliance with company standards and coordination with suppliers and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will actively collaborate in MES development and maintenance, applying blueprints, standards, and simplification to deliver optimal solutions for operations and customers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • Experience: 4+ years of professional IT experience in a major, global organization, including infrastructure lead, design, coding, and implementation of systems.
  • Database Skills: Proficiency in Oracle & SQL; Hana is a plus.
  • Coding Skills: Proficiency in Dot NET, Visual C, HTML, Java, JSON.
  • Hosting Platforms: Experience with both cloud and on-premises hosting platforms, including RDS (Remote Desktop Services), Citrix, and Azure VDI.
  • Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, and MS Azure, including EC2, RDS, and S3 management.
  • Validation Lifecycle: Knowledge of validation lifecycle and data integrity principles.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Industry Standards: Familiarity with information models and data standards in the iron/steel industry, such as automation and agile architecture.
  • Technical Leadership: Ability to provide broad and deep technical leadership and cohesive architectural approaches for strategic efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Standards & Setup: Lead the execution of infrastructure standards and setup for medium to large projects, demonstrating strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
  • Architectural Design: Create architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution development across products, services, projects, and systems, including applications, technologies, processes, and information.
  • Collaboration: Work as part of a development team to adopt or adapt technological solutions, accelerating development and support in the MES domain and ERP system integrations.
  • Application Development: Provide extensive knowledge of application development best practices and processes, alongside strong written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
  • Business Case Analysis: Analyze complex infrastructure business cases and functional specifications, simplifying problems and tasks within the global MES domain.
  • Primary Contact: Act as the primary contact for MES systems, optimizing software and hardware resources, and managing critical risks in the IT infrastructure area.
  • Stability & Reliability: Ensure the stability and reliability of systems, leading changes or adjustments as needed, and obtaining managerial approvals while complying with procedures.
  • User Support: Provide effective user support, responding promptly to requests and aligning with the company’s support model. Be available for out-of-hours work as required by business projects and criticalities.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
