BUSINESS STRATEGY ANALYST

We are currently seeking a Business Strategy Analyst to join our Strategy and Consulting Team. Working collaboratively, you will contribute to identifying and delivering opportunities for the Catapult’s consulting services with both space and non-space companies. You will conduct market research and business analyses, support the integration of space-based products and services across different sectors, learn to deliver business and commercial advice to clients recommend strategic plans, engage and connect ecosystem stakeholders, and assist businesses in commercialising new space-based products and services.
Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Consulting, this role requires the ability to work under guidance of senior and lead consultants and align with client value and organisational KPIs. It involves supporting a small team of expert business analysts and contributing to the design and delivery of strategic consulting services internally and externally. The role will assist in providing advisory services internally to the Catapult leadership team as well as to other departments. Externally, engagements with clients will be with large corporates and fast-growing SMEs.
An analytical mindset is highly desirable, along with the flexibility to incorporate multiple analytical approaches and techniques. Experience in the broader UK space or geospatial sectors and their supply chain, as well as an understanding of end-user ecosystems, is desirable but not essential. Our principal offices are in Harwell, Oxfordshire, but the role may require travel to other offices and stakeholder sites in the UK.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Ability to take responsibility for own tasks and analysis under guidance.
- Ability to monitor the external environment to gather intelligence on emerging technologies and market trends.
- Excellent written English with good presentation and communication skills.
- Business and commercial analysis skills.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
- Business consulting experience is a plus
- Business Development
- Understanding of the space or geospatial sectors
- Technology and horizon scanning, especially how innovation impacts society and business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree preferably in a business, science, or engineering discipline. Post-degree work in a business operations/analytical position and/or consulting or MBA is a plus.

Responsibilities:

- Identify opportunities for value creation within client engagements and contribute actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Deliver accurate and high-quality business analysis to meet team and client objectives while maintaining attention to detail.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to influence decisions and support long-term partnerships.
- Conduct market research to gather and analyse data that informs strategic recommendations and business opportunities.
- Create high-impact materials, including presentations and reports, that effectively communicate insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate within hybrid and cross-functional teams to facilitate communication and ensure the successful delivery of consulting services.
- Support business development efforts by identifying new leads, contributing to sales, and assisting with the design of value propositions.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines while balancing multiple tasks across client engagements and internal projects.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by integrating feedback, applying best practices, and contributing to ROI analyses.
- Engage in personal and professional development through goal-setting, knowledge sharing, and tracking contributions to organisational KPIs.
